The South Suburban Association of Chiefs of Police (SSACOP) is Illinois’ largest regional law enforcement association, representing over 70 law enforcement and public safety agencies in the south and southwest suburban areas of Chicago. The membership is comprised of various sized agencies including Chicago Police, Cook County Sheriff’s Police, Illinois State Police and several federal agencies. The SSACOP is a not-for-profit, 501 (c)(3) organization which promotes cooperation among member agencies that serves as a major resource to the respective communities. The SSACOP achieves this via monthly meetings, training updates, conferences focusing on best practices and the exchange of pertinent information that protects the quality of life of the citizens that we serve. Every year the SSACOP donates thousands of dollars back into the communities it serves to help families in need, bonafide charitable organizations and promoting the importance of education through scholarships.
